Hyundai drivers Thierry Neuville and Ott Tänak have expressed concerns about potential larger issues following the announcement that Kalle Rovanperä will also step back from a full-time program for 2024, Citing the demanding WRC schedule as the main factor in his decision.

Esapekka Lappi, Rovanperä's compatriot is also opting for a part-time program, speculates that burnout might be a decisive factor. Lappi wonders if Rovanperä's decision is an attempt to highlight the need for a potential redesign in the World Rally Championship.

Certainly, the sight of the reigning WRC champion, especially one as young as Rovanperä, stepping back due to the demanding nature at the top level is not a favorable reflection on the championship.
