Three way battle continues

After the first full day and eight stages the three championship contenders on this penultimate rally in the Irish tarmac rally championship are seperated by just eleven seconds.

Things looked ominous after the first stage when championship leader Callum Devine took the fastest time on Caherduggan 1, But contenders Evans and Moffett responded with the Welshman taking the fastest time on stage two, And Moffett taking stage three, With just 4.4s seperating the top three.

Evans then went on to take a hattrick of stage wins extending his lead to Devine to 11.2s, Devine responded taking 4.4s out of the leader with the fastest time on the penultimate stage, With Moffett still in touching distance.

The final 17km stage of the day through Inch 2 could not be closer, Just 1.2s seperated the top three, With Evans taking his fifth stage win.

Day two and another seven stages await, Evans has a slight advantage but we have a titanic battle ahead.
