With four rounds remaining of this years World Rally Championship attentions are now turning to the driver line-ups for next season.
With just one crew under contract for the 2024 season within the three teams, Could we see a major shake up for next year?
Unlikely but we can never really rule anything out especially when one shock departure could cause a chain reaction throughout the teams.
Tanak is the most likely to make a switch but where? Less than 12 months ago he made the decision to leave Hyundai due to personal issues, Would Hyundai welcome him back so quickly after the bombshell he dropped on them?
Neuville is currently the only driver contracted to the team for next season, We expect Lappi to secure a new contract with the team, But the future of Sordo is unclear, He could possibly still share the car with Suninen with the Finn expected to compete in a minimum of seven rounds for the 2024 season. That then completes Hyundai's line-up or does it?
We have all heard the rumours that Hyundai are looking at a fourth car, Opening up another seat, Is this dependent on the team attracting another top driver? Or to develop a future talent?
Toyota look likely to renew and continue with their current driver line-up, Unless we see a shock exit which would cause that chain reaction causing a knock on affect within all teams.
Tanak could just as easily continue with M-Sport but that might not be a decision he makes himself with the team needing to rely on funding and future sponsorship deals before any decisions can be made, Talks are ongoing with the Estonian, But any time scale on a new deal are unknown.
