Meeke's Portuguese Farewell

Kris Meeke & Co-Driver Brian Hoy will take part in their final Portuguese event of 2023 this weekend as the championship draws to a close at the Rallye Vidreiro - Centro de Portugal.

Unfortunatley Meeke he will not be involved in the four way battle to claim the title for 2023 but will be looking to end his Portuguese tour with a win ahead of the Carlisle stages rally and the Roger Albert Clark.

Meeke took up the invitation and agreed to drive for team Hyundai Portugal in Honor of Craig Breen for the remainder of the 2023 season.

Winning first time out at RALI TERRAS D'ABOBOREIRA, Meeke's second outing did not go to plan on the return to VODAFONE RALI DE PORTUGAL when the suspension failed on the car.

The Irishman returned for round five of the championship taking his second win and full power stage points at the RALI DE CASTELO BRANCO, Round six ended with Meeke making a small mistake and crashed out at the RALI VINHO DA MADEIRA.

Another dominant display and win on the penultimate round was not enough to keep Meeke in championship contention but as he told us when he joined the championship "I’m just going to keep racing like Craig always did, winning and enjoying.” and Kris certainly did that

This week will see crews tackle 105 stage km over two days, With two stages on the Friday before the final six stages of the championship are completed on Saturday.

Although not in contention, Meeke is sure to play some part in the destination of the title.
