Meeke Aims to Regain Ground In Portugal

Kris Meeke (Hyundai i20 N Rally2) and Armindo Araújo (Skoda Fabia RS Rally2) will be the focus of all the attention on the Eurocidades Chaves-Verin Transiberian Water Rally this weekend (13th and 14th), the seventh and penultimate round of the Portuguese Rally Championship.

Separated by only 7 points, they are the only drivers who can aspire to win the championship and, given such circumstances, it will be all or nothing in the Trás-os-Montes asphalt stages by these two protagonists who have monopolized the victories this season.

In fact, the previous edition of this rally organized by CAMI Motorsport was already marked by the exciting duel between those two figures, when Meeke won in Chaves by a margin of 1.8s over Araújo.

After a dissapointing Madeira Wine Rally, Meeke's only aim is to recover points at the Water Rally, with only two rounds remaining in the championship Meeke has no option but to push for the championship title.

1st, Armindo Araújo, 139 points;

2nd, Kris Meeke, 132;

3rd, Ricardo Teodósio, 64;
