After clinching the Junior British Rally Championship title in 2023, 27-year-old Kyle White from Belfast is gearing up for another exhilarating season in the British Rally Championship (BRC). However, for Kyle and his family, this journey is more than just about Rallying – it's a testament to their unwavering dedication, sacrifice, and resilience in the face of adversity.

Reflecting on the pressure of the previous season, Kyle spoke candidly to RallyFish, revealing the intense scrutiny and expectations that surrounded his performance. "It was make or break for us last year," Kyle admitted, acknowledging the high stakes and the weight of responsibility resting on his shoulders. "There was a lot of pressure, especially on my family. They all made sacrifices."

For Kyle and his family, rallying isn't just a passion – it's a way of life. From the early days of watching rallies together to embarking on their own rallying journey, the White family's bond runs deep, fueled by a shared love for the sport and a commitment to success. As Kyle prepares to tackle the challenges of the BRC once again, he knows that he has his family's unwavering support every step of the way.

As they look back on their journey, Kyle and his family are quick to acknowledge the significance of their achievements. "Last year's success was very humbling for us," Kyle reflects, a hint of pride evident in his voice. "As a family-run team, it was a collective effort – every member played a crucial role in our triumph."

At the heart of the operation is Kyle's father, Gary, whose unwavering support and guidance have been instrumental in shaping Kyle's rallying career. Together with Sean Topping, Kyle's long-time friend and confidant, Finally Kyle's "Rally Daddy" Alan Purdy who has been on the journey from day one, form the backbone of the team, providing invaluable expertise and camaraderie both on and off the stages.

2024 will see Kyle step up to the BRC1 category after putting a deal together to purchase a Hyundai i20 R5, Kyle will contest all six rounds of the British Rally Championship after gaining free entries to each round as part of the prize for taking the junior title in 2023.

"It's still sinking in that i own the Hyundai i20, I have never previously driven a four wheel drive car, The plan will be to learn the car over the first few rounds and then try to get a push on towards the end of the year" Asked if he had a target for the year Kyle hinted that he had a personal target, whether it would be achievable is another thing. We are excited to be working with JKS Automotive, Who will help us with the running of the car for the season.

This years championship is the most highly anticipated in years with drivers such as four times BRC winner Keith Cronin & ERC Champion Chris Ingram announcing their return, Its likely to be a very interesting year for the Northern Irishman and his family, Round 1 - The Legend Fires North West Stages takes place this weekend, With Live text commentary, Updates and timings throughout the event available in our Live Centre.
