The Sligo Pallets Forest Rally Championship team are delighted to release details of an incredible calendar of events for the series in 2025, with big changes in store for what is set to be an incredibly exciting year of Gravel Rallying right across the island of Ireland.
The headline information is the inclusion of eight events, including the welcome return to the series of Donegal and the exciting prospect of two brand new events for 2025 with Carlow and Mayo joining the booming series that has seen ever growing entries over recent years and massive interest from a loyal competitor base.
The 2025 action is set to kick off on February 15th when crews head to the North West for the first time in six years, with Donegal Town playing host to the opening round of the series which heads to the new and exciting Carlow Forest Rally on March 23rd.
With strong entries right across the field in recent times, it’s been great to see clubs like Carlow opting to run a first ever Forest Rally, and they are joined on the 2025 Calendar by fellow debutantes Mayo on May 31st, offering competitors a host of brilliant new stages while also bringing the series to exciting new areas and spectators.
Before the trip west, we see the return of a real staple of Irish Forest Rallying as the Moonraker returns on the April 12th, while the following month sees the Sean Conlon Tipperary Forest Rally head to Cahir on May 11th.
In recent weeks, the Sligo Pallets Forest Rally Championship team have dealt directly with competitors to get their feedback on various elements of the series, and there are a lot of positive changes that are coming directly from the responses received and these will be announced in the coming weeks, but the fantastic response from Clubs as well has helped to massively shorten the Summer Break between events which was an unfortunate reality in 2024.
As August rolls around, the Jim Walsh Cork Forest Rally see’s action return to some of the highest speed stages of the year on August 10th, with this point marking the sixth and final round for J1000 crews in a season that sees them taking on a full season 50% longer than ever before.
The 2025 season concludes North of the Border with the Lakeland Stages on September 6th and then the 50th Anniversary Bushwhacker on September 19&20th. The final two rounds are set to really play a role in the destination of the 2025 Championship, as rule changes introduced next year allow a host more competitors to score Sligo Pallets Forest Rally Championship points with changes to Restrictor sizes.
