Fourmaux on verge of joining Rally Royalty

This years Trackrod Rally Yorkshire could again decide the the winner of the British Rally Championship for the second year running.

The rally kicks off with the 12 mile Dalby stage just after 8pm tonight, followed by a further five stages on Saturday covering a total of 57 miles.

Fourmaux currently leads the championship after taking four wins from the four events entered this year, The Frenchman could join the greats of Colin McRae and Richard Burns in taking the championship title if he takes the win here.

The return back to gravel and the tricky stages through the forests have caught many previous challengers out in the past, Garry Pearson currently running second overall in the championship will also be hoping to have a say in the battle for honours.

Ceremonial start takes place from 19:00 this evening before SS1 Dalby at 20:04
