HOMECOMING CELEBRATION ON MONDAY AFTERNOON AT DUBLIN AIRPORT FOR JUNIOR WORLD RALLY CHAMPION WILLIAM CREIGHTON
Motorsport Ireland is planning a homecoming celebration at Dublin Airport this afternoon to welcome Junior World Rally Champions William Creighton and Liam Regan.
Creighton became the first Irish driver to win the Junior World Rally Championship since Craig Breen’s 2011 success, He was crowned Junior World Rally Champion following a dramatic final round in Greece over the weekend.
He and co-driver Regan are due to arrive at Dublin Airport at 3 p.m. today.
A delegation from Motorsport Ireland, including President Aidan Harper, Sporting Manager Art McCarrick and Motorsport Ireland Rally Academy Manager Sean McHugh will lead the homecoming celebration at Terminal One.
Members of the extended Creighton and Regan families will also attend, All rally fans and supporters are invited to attend the homecoming and are encouraged to bring flags and banners.
"This is an incredible achievement for William Creighton and Liam Regan. What a proud day for Motorsport Ireland and especially the Motorsport Ireland Academy which was founded and developed four years ago by John Coyne to identify, develop, support, and encourage young Irish athletes who have the talent to become first in class and best in the world, " said President Harper.
