Dani Sordo Adds To Quality Portuguese Entry List

Dani Sordo/Candido Carrera and the Hyundai i20 N Rally1 Hybrid will be the main attraction of the Terras D'Aboboreira Rally (26/27 April), the opening race of the FIA European Rally Trophy (ERT) and the third round of the Portuguese Rally Championship (CPR), whose entry list brings together no less than 7 WRC2 drivers.

This edition of the Terras D'Aboboreira Rally presents the best entry list in the history of the rally, as the "stars" of the CPR, such as Kris Meeke (Hyundai i20 N Rally2), Armindo Araújo (Skoda Fabia RS Rally2), Ricardo Teodósio (Hyundai i20 N Rally2), José Pedro Fontes (Citroen C3 Rally2), Pedro Almeida (Skoda Fabia Rally2 evo), Rúben Rodrigues (Skoda Fabia RS Rally2), Pedro Meireles (Hyundai i20 N Rally2) and João Barros (VW Polo Rally2), among others, join more than a dozen drivers in the Rally2 category. Among them, the names of Yohan Rossel (Citroen C3), Pierre Louis Loubet (Skoda Fabia RS), Josh McErlean (Skoda Fabia RS), Jan Solans (Toyota Yaris), James Leckey (Citroen C3), Nikolay Gryazin (Citroen C3), Marco Bulacia (Citroen C3) stand out.

A very competitive level is expected, and already with the "smell" of WRC, in this rally that will take place in the territories of Amarante, Baião and Marco de Canaveses with a total of seven stages (107.66 km).

The Terras D'Aboboreira Rally will also mark the start of the Peugeot Rally Cup Ibérica 2024, a competition that, in recent years, has been a true "school" for future young champions, and will be the third race of the Toyota Gazoo Racing Iberian Cup, another one-make trophy designed to discover new values. It should be noted that no less than 26 drivers are registered in the Peugeot Rally Cup Portugal, a record number. The drivers of the Peugeot 208 Rally4 and the Toyota GR Yaris RZ Cup promise, as happened last year, to put on a show in the qualifiers of that territory.

This third of eight CPR races, with a total of 90 entries, is also part of the calendars of the 2RM (two-wheel drive), Junior, Classics, 2RM Classics, Promo, Masters and Challenge R5/S2000 championships.
